She has inspired many with her story “Journey to the top” in becoming our first female Captain in the Brazilian fleet, which she held at our first Global Women in Solstad Conference in 2021.

Monica graduated with a degree in Nautical Science and holds a Postgraduate degree in Oil&Gas Business, Finance and Private Banking.

We have many strong role models already in our fleet and in our offices and they are very active to market “life at sea” and what career opportunities there are for women in the company.

To reach our goal, it requires leadership, willingness and targeted work when recruiting and when promoting.

Brazil is where we have the highest number of female seafarers and also in operational and commercial positions onshore. This is a result of dedicated work over a long period and it shows good results. We seek to share the knowledge from Brazil to other parts of our global organization to learn and improve.

Far Swan wins again

Far Swan has yet again being awarded and emerged as the winner of the Qatargas vessel of the Quarter for first quarter of 2020. This is the 2nd achievement, as she received the same award in 2Q of 2019, for this charter.

Successful restructuring on multiple fronts

On May 8th of this year, we reported to the market that Solstad Offshore ASA, its creditors and industrial shareholders have come to an agreement in the financial restructuring process of the group. We are pleased to announce that the restructuring – a significant milestone which means that Solstad will continue to operate in a controlled manner, with predictability for employees, clients and other stakeholders – is now complete.

Restructuring Implementation Agreement

Reference is made to the stock exchange notice 31 March 2020 where Solstad Offshore ASA (the “Company”) and its subsidiaries (“SOFF” or the “Group”) informed that it had agreed on a plan with key stakeholders to finalise the negotiations for an agreement for the financial restructuring of the Group.

Medium-term contracts for multiple vessels

Solstad Offshore ASA has entered into medium-term contracts for six of its vessels for a period of 80 to 170 days each with undisclosed Clients. Commencement will be around 1st July and the operation are outside the North Sea.
